Triple Chocolate Flourless Black Bean Brownies

These chocolatey and irresistible brownies are a chocaholics dream! The best part is  that the base is made from black beans, as opposed to refined flours and sugars that are commonly found in other brownies. The black beans create a dense and moist base, and when accompanied with rich, chocolatey flavours is a wildly delicious combination!

This recipe is VEGAN and can be made GLUTEN FREE by simply using gluten free oats.

  • 1 1/2 cups organic black beans ( 1 15 oz. can)
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Chocolate Topping:

  • 3/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup



  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Rinse and strain black beans in cool water.
  3. Combine all ingredients (except for the chocolate chips) into a food processor and blend until completely smooth. Make sure there are no chunks of black bean.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour into a 8X8 inch baking pan that has been greased or lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes, then let it cool for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Melt all of the chocolate topping ingredients together and pour ontop of the cooled brownies. Time to dig in!
