Homemade Chocolate Almond Drops

Let me just start by saying this…THESE ARE HEAVENLY!! Not only are they 100 times better for you than regular chocolates, they are vegan and can be enjoyed GUILT FREE! Did I mention they only take 4 minutes to make or that they only have 4 ingredients?! These are the perfect treat to indulge on when that craving for something sweet comes your way. I recently bought these wonderful chocolate moulds, where I pour my homemade chocolate into and then pop the almond into the centre. However, if you do not have a mould, you can use a small bowl, ice tray, or really anything you like to keep it in!

  • Cocoa Powder
  • Coconut Oil (melted)
  • Maple Syrup
  • Raw or Toasted Almonds

The ratio for this recipe for the cocoa, coconut oil and maple syrup (in that order) is a 2:1:1 ratio. So it does not matter how little of how much chocolate you are planning on making, as long as you stick to the ratio you will be good to go. Combine these three ingredients together and then pour into your mould (if you have one). Then place an almond into the centre of each, so that it is fully submerged into the chocolate, and the put them into the fridge for an hour or so. Then transfer them into the freezer, where they will set for around another hour. If you are just wanting to make homemade chocolate with almond in it, then there is no need to let the chocolate set in the fridge or freezer, it will be perfect to eat right after the almonds are added. However, if you leave the chocolate out on the counter for a little while you will see that it gets thicker and incredibly creamy! These chocolate in a mould and on not in a mould will keep in the freezer for around two weeks, and if you run out of freezer space, just transfer them to the fridge, either one will do for storing the chocolates.
